Best WiFi Extenders & Repeaters — Compared

The deciding factor for an extender is its backhaul: wireless repeating halves throughput, while wired backhaul (AP mode) loses nothing. Below is every repeater we carry.

How we sort

Sorted by throughput; dual-band units first among equals.

Spec comparison table

The table draws on the same data as our product pages and stays in step with them. Prices move with volume and FX — quoted on request.

Choosing by scenario

Large homes

Dual-band with a gigabit port; use wired backhaul wherever cable is possible.

Temporary coverage gaps

Prioritise size and plug-and-play; moderate speed is enough.

Shops and offices

Check same-SSID roaming and central management, otherwise clients will not hand over.

Can these ship together

Extenders usually ship with routers — a classic mixed-brand combination.

Questions

Q1Why does repeating halve throughput?

The radio must receive then retransmit, consuming half the airtime. Wired backhaul or a tri-band dedicated backhaul avoids the loss.

Q2Is an extender the same as an access point?

No. An AP connects over cable; an extender relays over the air. If cable is available, choose the AP.
